Lv 60–130 · Kanata world · the Usher, Henesys · 7 chapters, then the Moon Stage dungeon

The Four Faces continues Lune's story with its own teller: the Usher, the top-hatted theatre usher just east of Lune in Henesys. It's about the Jester's old troupe and the four faces they lost. Each chapter opens at its level and needs the one before it.

The Usher

Every chapter pays EXP worth 25% to 35% of the EXP bar at that chapter's level, plus mesos. Chapter rooms are private and last up to 15 minutes. The portal, dying, logging off or the clock all take you back to town. You can't change channel or open the Cash Shop inside.

The Four Faces

1 · The Empty Chairs

Lv 60 · the Usher, Henesys

  • The Usher passes on Lune's words and takes you into a memory on a moonlit stage. Watch the troupe's last show in the speech bubbles.
  • Then the four faces fall from above, one at a time: Greed, Wrath, Fear and Sorrow. Go to where each one lands and pick it up within 20 seconds. A face left too long shatters and falls again, so just try again.
Face of Greed Face of Wrath Face of Fear Face of Sorrow
  • Torn Playbill After the fourth face you're back in Henesys. Give the four faces to the Usher; you receive the Torn Playbill.

Reward: 38,952 EXP · 500,000 mesos

2 · Sorrow Sings

Lv 70 · the Songbird, Orbis

The Songbird

  • She takes you to a balcony with seven Star-Glass Chimes, one glowing crystal per note (C D E F G A B), spread over the tiers. Climb the ropes to reach the high ones.
  • She sings a phrase; the notes also show in the progress message. Click the chimes in the same order, standing within reach of each.
  • A wrong note cracks the glass and she sings the phrase again from the start. The phrases are 3 notes, then 5, then 7.

Find where every note's chime stands before she starts singing.

Reward: 84,090 EXP · 1,250,000 mesos

3 · Greed Deals

Lv 85 · the Card Sharp, Kerning City

The Card Sharp

  • He only talks to winners: Match Cards, best of three (win two), in the normal mini-game window.
  • He cheats, in character: after a miss he may tap the table ("*tap tap*" in the window chat and over his head). His next flip after a tap is a guaranteed match unless you take that pair first.
  • Lose and you can simply play again.

Remember every card he flips. When he taps, grab the pair you know before he does.

Reward: 183,552 EXP · 2,000,000 mesos

4 · Fear Hides

Lv 100 · the Usher, Henesys

The Daredevil

  • The Daredevil hides behind your own reflection, through three mirror rooms. In each room five reflections wear your exact look; one of them is the Daredevil and he's slightly wrong. Click him. A wrong click resets the room.

Answers

  • Room 1: the one wearing a different hat.
  • Room 2: the one missing an earring or holding a different weapon.
  • Room 3: everything matches, so walk left and right: one reflection faces the wrong way when you turn.

Reward: 542,598 EXP · 2,750,000 mesos

5 · Wrath Roars

Lv 115 · the Strongman, Perion

The Strongman

  • Don't fight him; make him laugh. Every 2.5 seconds he pulls a face, shown in his speech bubble. Answer with the counter-face using your emotion keys.
  • Eight right answers in a row and he cracks up. A miss or a wrong face starts the count over. After 60 faces without eight in a row he gives up ("Bah. Come back when you're funny."): talk to him again.
He's... You make
Angry Smile (F2)
Sad Surprised (F3)
Scared Bewildered (F6) (a wink from an emotion item works too)
Smug Cry (F4)
Bored Stunned (F7)
Tired Hit (F1)
Laughing Angry (F5)

Reward: 1,965,354 EXP · 3,500,000 mesos

6 · The Old Act

Lv 125 · the Usher, Henesys

  • Everyone's back for the rehearsal on the stage, one of everything, with the same rules and answers as chapters 2 to 5: a 5-note chime phrase, one hand of Match Cards, one mirror pick and four beats of faces.
  • Then watch the reveal: a figure in white, and a reflection that isn't a man. Meet the Impresario.

Reward: 2,842,650 EXP · 4,250,000 mesos

7 · The Near Side

Lv 130 · the Usher, Henesys

  • Moon Pass The Usher gives you the Moon Pass. If you lose it, he hands you another. The Moon Stage is now open to you.

Reward: 4,228,602 EXP · 5,000,000 mesos

The Moon Stage

Masked Seller Masked Seller

Normal Lv 130 · Hard Lv 160 · Encore Lv 200 · 1–2 players · no entry limit

Getting in: finish The Near Side, then talk to the Usher in Henesys and pick a difficulty. Go alone or with one friend: a party of 1 or 2 standing on the Usher's map, both at the tier's level with the questline done. There's no entry limit and no cooldown. Each run is your party's private stage of five rooms and lasts up to 60 minutes.

Tier Level What you get
Normal 130 Hints, gentler mistakes, only the Impresario's first act
Hard 160 Stricter puzzles, the reflections swap, and his second act
Encore 200 Everything, faster, with the final Encore phase and a 12-minute clock on the boss

Rules inside: walk into a room's glowing exit portal (up arrow) once its puzzle is solved, and the whole party moves on. The room's other portal leaves the Moon Stage (it asks first); only you leave, your partner stays. Dying sends you back to Henesys and out of that run. Changing channel and the Cash Shop are blocked. Monsters inside give no EXP or drops; the rewards all come at the end.

Room 1 · The Foyer: the masquerade bridge

The Foyer

Four Masked Sellers stand on the bridge, and only one sells real tickets. The Usher reads tonight's marquee, a riddle that names the honest one (click the Usher to hear it again). Click the right seller and the gate under the butterfly arch opens.

The marquee says Click
"I pound the moon's rice every night and never taste a grain." The rabbit mask (far west)
"My nose is red, my smile is painted on, and I laugh for a living." The clown mask (just west of where you arrive)
"I wear every face and own none; I hide half of one and all of the rest." The white half-mask (just before the butterfly arch)
"I wear a beak that never sings under a hat that never tips." The beaked mask (far east)

A wrong seller costs you, depending on the tier: on Normal, stagehands (small wisps) pour out; on Hard, every seller shuts for 10 seconds; on Encore, you lose 30% of your max HP.

Room 2 · Hall of Mirrors

The Hall of Mirrors

  • Five reflections line the hall, wearing your party's looks. Two of them are fakes, each slightly wrong: a different hat, a missing earring or a swapped weapon. Click both fakes. Clicking a true reflection resets the round and redraws it.
  • Hard: they swap places every 8 seconds.
  • Encore: they swap every 12 seconds, and a third fake, the liar, wears your look exactly. Every reflection says one thing about where the liar stands. The honest ones tell the truth and the liar doesn't; together they point to one mirror. Click the liar too.

Room 3 · The Orchestra Pit

The Orchestra Pit

The moon hums the Jester's lullaby. Replay it on the seven Star-Glass Chimes; each one is labelled with its note. Climb the ropes to reach them: C is on the ground on the west side, D and B up the west balconies, E mid-west, F on the high middle balcony, and G and A on the east tiers.

Answer: A D F E D C D E A

  • Normal: three notes at a time, with hints and a chime map. Hard: all nine notes in one go. Encore: quicker, and one note is hidden (it's the song above, so you know it now).
  • With a partner, each of you hears half the notes, so talk. A wrong note cracks the glass and the moon hums it again.

Room 4 · The Stage: the Impresario

The Stage

The gate to the Curtain Call lights up only when his last act falls. Normal: Act I with two of the Faces (Greed and Wrath). Hard: Act I with all four Faces, then Act II. Encore: Act I with all four Faces, Act II, then the Encore, all on a 12-minute clock that starts when you walk on.

Act I: Showtime

  • He fights standing over his reflection: a short slash, and a wide slash that knocks you back and reverses your controls for a moment.
  • Sometimes he slips into a pillar and can't be hit while his reflection strikes along the floor: jump it. He also throws a ghost wave from his book across the stage.
  • "Stagehands! Lights!": Stagehand Wisps fly at you (2 on Normal, 3 on Hard, 4 on Encore, never more than 8 at once). Each one bursts on its first hit or fades after 8 seconds.
  • Encore only: now and then he stuns players near him for 2 seconds.

The Four Faces (Act I only)

45 seconds in, and every 45 seconds after that, he wears one of his Faces for 20 seconds. The stage announces each one, and he never wears the same Face twice in a row.

  • Moonlit Bait Coin Greed: six Moonlit Bait Coins scatter over the stage. Leave them. Picking one up stuns you for 2 seconds and the coin vanishes. Pets and auto pickup leave the coins alone.
  • Wrath: he strikes a pose ("Hold your applause.") and every blow comes back at you. Stop hitting until the Face falls away.
  • Fear: Watching Eyes open on the floor (2, or 3 on Encore) and the lights go down. Break every eye; the dark lifts and Fear ends early.
  • Sorrow: he feeds on stillness. Keep moving. If nobody on the stage moves more than a short step for 3 seconds, he heals 0.25% of his HP every half second.

Act II: The Strings (Hard and Encore)

  • When Act I runs out of HP he bows out ("You want to see the face under the face? Look down."). Then his reflection takes the stage at full HP.
  • It never moves, but its spider strikes reach far, and one of them stuns.
  • Curtain Call is the giant spider rising up to 900 px in front of him, and it leaves you at 1 HP and 1 MP. He turns toward his target before it lands, so keep your distance. No Faces in Act II.

The Encore (Encore tier)

  • At a quarter of Act II's HP the reflection bows out, and he comes back for one more ("You didn't think I'd leave without an encore?").
  • He uses two slashes, a lance thrown across the stage, and now and then a magic-reflect aura. Mages, watch for it.
  • If the 12-minute clock runs out first, the curtain falls without you and everyone goes home unpaid.

Dying in the boss room sends you home and out of the run; your partner can still finish the show. When the last act falls ("...Bravo. Take the laugh. It was always his.") the gate lights up. Walk through to the Curtain Call.

Room 5 · Curtain Call: the rewards

Curtain Call

Walk in and the Usher pays each player once per run:

Tier EXP Mesos Star-Glass Tokens Reward piece
Normal 1,208,172 2,000,000 1 20%
Hard 8,655,414 4,000,000 3 30%
Encore 71,400,000 8,000,000 6 40%

The reward piece is one of the Moonlit Troupe set, the Moonlit Jester pet, or your tier's accessory. If you already carry that piece (worn or in your bag; storage doesn't count) you get 2 tokens instead. If your inventory is full, your pay is held safely: make room and ask the Usher again.
