PATCH NOTES & HOT FIXES 1.2

Kanata Update • October 14, 2026

Everything since the 1.1 notes on October 12, including the two changes that are already live. This update comes with a client patch, so close the game and let the launcher finish before you play.

HD scaling is on for everyone. The game now scales up to fill your window or borderless fullscreen. Press F10 > HD scaling to change the filter or the window size, or to turn it off.

New Area: Bellwether (Lv. 200+)

A post town for level 200 and up, with three new hunting grounds, five residents, seven quests and three weeklies. Kanata world only.

The Address Market, Bellwether's town

Getting There

  • From level 200, talk to the Postal Worker in Leafre (lower street, just east of Quill) and take the post-boat to The Address Market.
  • To get back, ask the Postal Worker in the Market or walk off the Market's west edge.
  • In the Chaos world the Postal Worker just tells you the boat sails for Kanata.

The Address Market

The Bellwether residents

Resident What they do
Jory Twine General Store: Leafre's general store items, recharging included
Pip Post Storage (100 mesos to store an item, free to take out) and quests
Miri Lilt Stylist: the Royal hairstyles and faces for a Royal Hair Coupon or Royal Face Coupon, and quests
Sera Flint The town's engineer, gives quests
Postal Worker The post-boat back to Leafre, and quests
  • The town also has a Free Market portal.

Hunting Grounds

Three big maps in a row, east of the Market:

Map Monster Level HP Base EXP
Saltletter Strand: Broken Breakwater Unmoored Sentinel 200 1,300,000 24,700
Saltletter Strand: The Drowned Watch Abyssal Surveyor 203 1,450,000 29,000
Lantern Observatory: Fallen Lens Lantern Revenant 206 1,700,000 37,400

The three new monsters

  • The monsters scale to you. They fight at your level: the higher you are, the more HP they have and the harder they hit, and the more EXP they give. The table shows them at their own level.
  • Your loot is yours. Everyone who gets EXP from a kill rolls the drops for themselves, and only they can see and pick them up. Steal and Pickpocket drops belong to the thief.
  • They drop mesos, Elixirs and Power Elixirs, plus the usual drops for monsters of their level.
  • The maps fill up like other hunting maps, up to 75 monsters. The Postal Worker at the Fallen Lens can send you back to the Market.

Fashion Gacha

Special Fashion Tickets

  • They no longer drop from regular monsters (it was 0.5%).
  • Instead, main bosses give every eligible player a 20% chance at 5 Special Fashion Tickets per kill, as their own drop. Drop rates and drop buffs don't change that chance.
  • Main bosses: Zakum, Chaos Zakum, Horntail, Chaos Horntail, Pink Bean, Papulatus, Balrog, Easy Balrog, Krexel, Scarlion & Targa and Ravana. Field bosses (Pianus, The Boss, Captain Latanica) and the Moon Stage don't drop them. Kanata world only.
  • The DP shop still sells them for 1,080 DP each. Normal Fashion Tickets still drop at 1% from monsters within 10 levels of you.

New Styles & Cosmetics

200 Hairstyles & 200 Faces

  • 200 new hairstyles and 200 new faces at the Royal stylists: Big Headward (Henesys Hair Salon, Royal Hair Coupon), Nurse Pretty (Henesys Plastic Surgery, Royal Face Coupon) and Miri Lilt in Bellwether.
  • They're offered in your current hair or eye color.

Mounts

Monster Riding for Everyone

  • Every character now gets its family's Monster Riding skill automatically when you log in: Explorers (Beginners and Dual Blades included), Cygnus Knights, Aran, Evan and, new, Resistance. No quest or SP needed, and the old riding quests still work.
  • To ride you still need the Universal Saddle (Cash Shop, 5,000 NX, permanent) and a mount in your mount slot.
  • @ab never casts Monster Riding.

50 Mounts

50 new mounts in the Special Fashion Gacha, all ridable with the Universal Saddle.

Drops

  • Ores: each of the 22 mineral, jewel and crystal ores now drops at 1% from every regular monster (it was 0.15%), on top of the monsters that already carried them. Drop rates don't change it. (live since October 14)
  • Monster VP: the monthly cap per account is now 40 VP (it was 20). (live since October 12)

GM Check

  • Passing a GM check or a lie detector now gives you one random 10-minute buff, with its own icon and timer:
Buff Lv. 1-119 Lv. 120-199 Lv. 200+
EXP +50% +75% +100%
Drop rate +50% +60% +75%
Mesos +50% +60% +75%
ATT / M.ATT +15% +20% +25%
  • You won't get the same kind twice in a row, and never one you already have running, so your own coupons and buffs are never overwritten. If all four are already active, you just get a message.

Medals

  • Kanata's 11 own medals can now be moved between characters on the same account through Storage. They still can't be traded.
  • The 11: Far-Sider, Unbroken, The Jester's Equal, Curtain Caller, Opening Night, The Second Act, Encore!, Standing Ovation, Four Faces Found, One-Man Show and Edgewalker.
  • Each character still earns its own. If you carry a copy from Storage, Lune and Maren ask you to put it back first, and a Moon Stage clear keeps your own medal waiting for you. You can only carry one of each.

New Players & Tips

  • GM Kanata says hi once after your first job advancement: a few short pages on the main commands, the Monster Book and where Kanata's questlines start. Only characters that make their first job advancement after this update see it, and not in Chaos.
  • The yellow chat tips are now 30 Kanata tips about commands, systems, questlines, Chaos and the forum, one every 20 minutes.

HD Scaling

  • The whole game picture now scales up to fill your window or borderless fullscreen, on by default. The game still draws at its own resolution, so the mouse lines up exactly.
  • F10 > HD scaling has the settings: on or off, the filter (Pixel, Smooth, Sharp bilinear, Bicubic, Lanczos or FSR 1.0; Sharp bilinear is the default), sharpening, fit (keep the aspect ratio, whole-number scale or stretch), window size from 100% to 300%, a resizable window, VSync, and keeping the cursor inside the game in fullscreen.
  • Kanata's buff timers follow the scaled picture.

Bug Fixes

Quests

  • Judging the Axe: while The Story of Axes is in progress, Dark Axe Stumps now drop the Axe even if they're outside your level range. The same goes for the items that start 41 other follow-up quests.
  • Memory Lane: the Memory Keeper quest can now be turned in after you visit your 1st job instructor. Characters that were stuck on it are fixed at their next login.

Gathering Bags

  • Materials that an active quest still needs now stay in your Etc inventory instead of going into the bag (as long as you have room), so the quest counts them. This affected 66 quests.
  • Already have one in the bag? Drag it back to your Etc inventory once and the quest picks it up.
  • Clicking an in-progress Gathering Bag quest at the NPC who gave it no longer opens an empty box. It shows who to report to, for example in Not a Shoelace.

Pets

  • With two or three pets out, putting one away (or one running out of life) now moves the others into place properly, for you and for everyone around you. This fixes pets that kept moving after being put away, a new pet replacing one that was still out, pet auto-potions stopping and a possible crash when entering a map.
  • Old slot gaps are fixed when you log in, and moving an active pet to the Cash Shop locker no longer leaves a gap.
  • Summoning a fourth pet is refused cleanly instead of mixing up your pet list.

Items

  • No more disconnects when an item use gets refused: a potion from a slot that was just emptied (for example when auto-potion got there first), a pet auto-potion from a pet that's no longer out, or a script item like a Nebulite Box or a coupon while dead, from a moved slot or with a window open.
  • With a window open you now get "Close the open window first, or type @dispose if nothing is open."
  • A Clean Slate Scroll on an item with no failed upgrade slots now tells you so and keeps the scroll.
  • Purrfect Rompers Goggles and Purrfect Rompers Communicator have English names now.

Buffs

  • After a channel change, your buffs keep their icons when a Battle Mage aura, Aran's Combo Ability or an invincibility effect came along (those hid every other icon), and a monster's disease no longer shows the wrong skill icon.

Game

  • Leafre Station: the four landing spots work again, so you turn back from the Mini Draco form when you land.
