PATCH NOTES & HOT FIXES 1.4

Kanata Update • October 18, 2026

The bell under Bellwether has started ringing again. This patch brings our strongest boss yet, Halloween around town, three new Kanata Scrolls, and better rewards for a few familiar challenges.

This update includes a client patch. Close the game and let the launcher finish updating before you play.

New Boss: The Unnamed Toll

Something under the quay has learned to count the letters that never made it home. Finish A Coat for the Crossing, then follow the doorway at Bellwether's inn and speak to Nell Wren.

Difficulty Minimum Level Solo HP Time Limit Players
Normal 200 1.2 billion 20 minutes 1–6
Hard 225 14.4 billion 20 minutes 1–6
  • Both modes can be challenged solo. A party is optional; the boss's HP scales with the number of fighters who enter and stays fixed for that run.
  • Both difficulties share the same entry limits. If you bring a party, have everyone ready and let the leader speak to Nell.
  • Watch the clapper, move out of the stamped lanes, and stand inside a glowing return-address seal when the bell sends the letters back. The whole lane isn't safe.
  • Hard hits 25% harder with those mechanics. The warnings still give you time to respond.
  • Each eligible fighter has their own flat 20% chance to receive one Eternal armor piece or Genesis weapon suited to their class. Other players' rolls don't affect yours, and drop bonuses don't increase this chance.
  • To qualify for personal loot, contribute at least 15% of the boss's HP and be alive inside your run when it falls.
  • Eligible fighters also receive 5 Nebulite Boxes, with separate chances for 10 Miracle Cubes and 5 Alien Cubes.
  • Solo challengers and party leaders must accept Nell's quest before their first entry. Companions should accept it too for story credit. Leaving the chamber gives up your place in that run.

Halloween Around Kanata

The towns have dressed up for Halloween, and quite a few familiar faces have joined in.

Halloween in Henesys — asset preview

  • Seasonal scenery across 77 maps in Henesys, Ellinia, Perion, Kerning City, Sleepywood, Nautilus Harbor and the Free Market.
  • Costumes for 170 NPCs, including their normal animations.
  • Nautilus interiors and all 22 Free Market rooms are included.

Three Scrolls. Your Choice.

Ordinary scrolling now uses three universal Kanata Scrolls, each with its own odds and strength. Hunt for Scroll Fragments, then use @ss to choose the scroll you want.

Steady, Bold and Wild Kanata Scrolls

Scroll Success Fragment Cost Armor Weapon
Steady 70% 100 +2 main stat +1 ATT or MATT
Bold 40% 150 +4 main stat +2 ATT or MATT
Wild 15% 225 +7 main stat +4 ATT or MATT
  • One fragment can drop at a flat 3% chance from eligible regular monsters. Fragments stack in your ETC inventory.
  • Armor gains the appropriate main stat. Wands and staves gain MATT; other weapons gain ATT.
  • These use normal upgrade slots. A failed attempt doesn't destroy your equipment, and White Scrolls can protect the slot.
  • New ordinary scroll rewards from bosses, quests, Gachapon and reward boxes use these three types. Ordinary random scroll clutter from regular monsters is replaced by fragments.
  • The mesos scroll shop no longer sells ordinary scrolls. Socket Creators remain available through its service menu.
  • Scrolls you already own still work. Special scroll systems and the few scrolls required as quest materials remain available for their intended purpose.

Main Boss Rewards

Long fights should feel better when the boss finally falls.

The personal bonus pool has been improved for Zakum, Chaos Zakum, Horntail, Chaos Horntail, Pink Bean, Papulatus, Balrog, Easy Balrog, Krexel, Scarlion, Targa and Ravana.

Each stack below now has its own 60% chance, up from 50%, at Kanata's normal drop rate before your personal drop bonuses:

Bonus Item Amount per Successful Roll
Alien Cubes 15
Advanced Equipment Enhancement Scrolls 5
White Scrolls 3
Chaos Scrolls 3
Miracle Cubes 25
Nebulite Boxes 10
  • Six separate rolls per eligible fighter. You can win several different stacks from one clear. Your drop bonuses affect your own rolls.
  • No empty bonus-material result. If all six rolls miss, you receive one randomly chosen full stack from this table. This is a fallback, not an extra stack on top of successful rolls.
  • These drops are private to you; other players have their own rolls, and your pet can collect yours.
  • The existing guaranteed NX stays. 5 Special Fashion Tickets keep their separate flat 20% chance in the regular world; drop bonuses do not increase that ticket chance.
  • The usual participation requirements and boss entry limits still apply. Field bosses and Moon Stage do not gain this bonus pool.

GM Bot Checks

GM Kanata checks are spaced around two hours of active hunting on average, with random timing instead of a fixed schedule.

Passing a qualifying GM check or lie detector gives one random buff for 20 minutes, up from 10. Its strength depends on your level:

Your Level EXP Bonus Drop Bonus Meso Bonus ATT / M.ATT Bonus
1–119 +60% +60% +60% +18%
120–199 +85% +70% +70% +23%
200+ +110% +85% +85% +28%
  • You receive one of these bonuses per pass, with its own buff icon and countdown.
  • The reward skips a bonus type you already have active, so it won't replace your coupon, card or skill boost of that type.
  • It avoids repeating your previous reward type while another type is available. If all four types are active, you pass the check normally without an extra buff.

Shops & Fixes

  • Alien Cubes have moved out of the QP shop. Miu Miu now sells them for 10,000,000 mesos each.
  • Chaos Jester can appear in Bellwether's three hunting grounds.
  • Nine Spirit's Egg now summons the Baby Dragon inside your own Dragon's Nest instance.
  • Fixed a client crash caused by a missing countdown display in a Pyramid challenge map.

See you at the bell. Come ready, and watch where the letters land.
