THE FOUR FACES
Kanata Content Update • September 2026
The night the Jester laughed at the moon, the moon laughed back and the whole troupe lost their faces. Four of them still wander Maple World, each stuck feeling just one thing. Lune wants them home for one last show. Someone on the moon's near side wants an encore.
This update brings The Four Faces, a seven-chapter Kanata questline from level 60 to 130, and The Moon Stage, a brand-new 1–2 player dungeon with puzzle rooms, riddles and a new boss, the Impresario. Clear it for the Moonlit Troupe outfit and pet, three new best-in-slot accessories, six medals and a lot of mesos.
The Four Faces - A New Kanata Questline
Begin with the Usher
Find the Usher, a top-hatted theatre usher standing right next to Lune in Henesys on the Kanata world. The first chapter opens at level 60; every chapter needs the one before it.
| Level | Chapter | Your Next Act |
|---|---|---|
| 60 | The Empty Chairs | Relive the troupe's last show and catch the four falling faces. |
| 70 | Sorrow Sings | Help the Songbird in Orbis remember her song on the Star-Glass Chimes. |
| 85 | Greed Deals | Beat the Card Sharp in Kerning City at Match Cards. He cheats. Watch his hands. |
| 100 | Fear Hides | Find the Daredevil hiding among five copies of you in the mirror rooms. |
| 115 | Wrath Roars | Don't fight the Strongman in Perion - make him laugh. |
| 125 | The Old Act | The rehearsal. Then someone new takes the stage. |
| 130 | The Near Side | Receive the Moon Pass. The Moon Stage opens. |
Every Chapter Plays Differently
- Catch the faces as they fall from the sky before they shatter.
- Replay songs on seven glowing chimes, one note per crystal: 3, then 5, then 7 notes.
- Match Cards against a card shark with a tell.
- Spot the fake among reflections wearing your exact outfit.
- Answer faces with faces: the Strongman pulls one on every beat, you answer with the right emotion key (F1–F7).
The Moon Stage - A New Dungeon
Finish the questline, then talk to the Usher and pick a difficulty. Bring one friend or go solo. There is no entry limit and no cooldown.
| Tier | Level | The Show |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | 130 | Hints, gentle mistakes and the Impresario's first act. |
| Hard | 160 | Stricter puzzles, reflections that swap places, and his second act. |
| Encore | 200 | Everything, faster, with a final Encore phase and a 12-minute clock. |
Five rooms, one after another:
- The Foyer - a masquerade on a moonlit canal bridge. The marquee's riddle names the one honest ticket seller. Pick wrong and the show bites back.
- Hall of Mirrors - a crystal mirror world where your party's reflections line the hall. Two are fakes (on
Encore a third one lies). - The Orchestra Pit - tiered balconies and seven Star-Glass Chimes. The moon hums a lullaby; play it back.
- The Stage - the Impresario.
- Curtain Call - a moonlit clock tower. Take your bow and your rewards.
- Walk into a room's glowing exit once its puzzle is solved to move your whole party on. The other portal lets you leave any time.
- Falling in the dungeon sends you back to Henesys. Changing channel and the Cash Shop are blocked inside.
- Monsters inside don't give EXP or drops - everything is paid at Curtain Call.
The Impresario
The moon's own showman runs the Near Side stage, and nobody leaves before the show is over.
- Act I - Showtime: slashes, a vanishing act (jump his reflection's strike), ghost pages from his book, and
Stagehand Wisps that fly straight at you. On Encore he also stuns now and then. - The Four Faces: every 45 seconds of Act I he wears one for 20 seconds. Greed scatters bait coins (don't
pick them up; pets and auto pickup ignore them), Wrath sends every blow back (stop hitting), Fear opens
Watching Eyes and brings the dark (break them all), and Sorrow heals him while you stand still (keep moving).
Normal plays Greed and Wrath only. - Act II - The Strings (Hard and Encore): his reflection rises. It never moves, but its Curtain Call leaves anyone
in front of it at 1 HP. Keep your distance. - The Encore (Encore only): one last act, with a 12-minute clock on the whole show. Run out of time and the
curtain falls without you. - Dying sends you home, but your partner can still finish the show.

Fixes & Improvements
Already live since September 24:
- Script portals and item scripts: a check that answered with a plain message could leave your client stuck. It now always lets go.
- Character names now allow letters and numbers only, so no more names showing up as "?".
- Commands typed in global chat (like @sell) now run, instead of being shouted to every player and the forum.
- Chaos Whims now change exactly on the hour.
With this update:
- Damage cap fixed. Hits are no longer capped at 999,999 anywhere, including hits on monsters weak to your
element. Big numbers show in full. - Final Attack, Spark and Body Pressure no longer cost MP when they trigger, and they still fire while you're
sealed (the skill that set them off already paid). - Page and Spearman Final Attacks after Slash Blast now hit every monster Slash Blast hit.
- Element Amplification now makes only attack spells cost more MP. Teleport and your buffs cost what they say.
- Buffs and debuffs that ran out at the same moment you acted now clear on your screen too: no more stuck Seal,
Shadow Partner or Dark Sight until you change channel. - NPCs that a quest or event takes away no longer linger as clickable ghosts that say "NPC data is not ready yet"
(the Far Side's star-lanterns, the mirror rooms and a few older quests). - Auto Buff no longer spams your summons while you're out of MP, or cuts off a Heal or Chains of Hell you just set up.
- Linked monsters (many Mu Lung Dojo bosses, party quest and event monsters) now use their full attacks, including the status effects and knockdowns the game already showed on screen. Dojo bosses that revive now wait for their death animation.
- The Kanata Chaos Jester now shows up on 78 more hunting maps where he never appeared before, like The Dragon Nest
Left Behind, many exploration-medal fields, the Kerning Square top floors and Neo City. - Set bonuses from imported equipment sets apply in full again. Since September 20 some of their extra bonus lines
were quietly missing. - New art for older Kanata items: Mask Shard, Star-Glass, Ticket to the Far Side, Moon Mirror, and new inventory icons for the Jester's Throne and Lune's Crescent chairs.
