VP and DP buy conveniences and NX; NX buys cubes. VP and in-game DP can be earned without donating.

Rates & Hunting

  • Base rates: 4x EXP, 3x drops and 4x mesos. Use F8 Monster Book or @drops for personal chances; some pools have separate rules.
  • Keep 2x EXP active when training in Kanata. Voting makes it easy to fund and it makes a big difference. It doubles combat EXP, not quest turn-in rewards. Chaos does not use the account rental service.
  • Level-appropriate drops: ordinary loot and mesos generally need you within 10 levels of a monster. Monsters level 115+ keep dropping when you outlevel them. Bosses, cards, PQ progression items and active quest needs have separate rules.
  • Growing maps: eligible hunting fields grow while players keep killing there. Check @check for the map you are playing.
  • Regular equipment follows your class and the monster's level bracket. The ordinary equipment roll is 20% in Kanata and 4% in Chaos. Boss equipment serves the participating classes.
  • Party training is strongly recommended, especially on large endgame maps. Eligible active members receive a party EXP bonus: 25% for two, rising to 50% for six. Cover different platforms and keep kills moving. Stay alive and contribute in the same map; AFK members do not count. EXP is shared, so your personal amount per kill can vary.

Questing belongs in leveling. Accept useful story/hunting quests before killing their targets, and turn them in as you go. Save early QP when drops keep your gear current.

Two Worlds

Kanata Chaos
Access Everyone Finish The Far Side on your account
Characters 6 starting slots, up to 15 Fresh characters; 2 slots, up to 6
Starter gift Once per account None
Starting inventory 24 Equip/Use/Setup/Etc, 96 Cash 96 in each tab
Death Normally 10% of the level's EXP bar; never drops a level EXP loss plus one of 3 lives, outside safe activities
Trading, Cash Shop, storage Available Sealed
Account currencies and rentals Available Sealed

Safety Charms prevent applicable EXP loss, not a dangerous Chaos life loss.

The first Kanata character claims the account's 10,000,000 mesos, 10,000 NX, 100 White Potions, 100 Mana Elixirs and 20 Return Scrolls - Nearest Town. Later characters start with 0 mesos.

The Chaos World

Finish The Far Side with Lune in Henesys to unlock Chaos for the account. Nothing is transferred into it: your Chaos character earns its own equipment and supplies.

Characters & Lives

  • Three lives. The third death ends the run and frees its slot. Deaths are announced; Lune's Wall of Masks remembers the fallen.
  • Two slots to begin with, up to six. Earn slots at 70, a qualifying first main-boss clear, 120, and 120 without a death.
  • Monsters have 300% HP and deal 168.75% damage before the world's other modifiers. The full-HP protection has its own restrictions.
  • Dojo, Monster Carnival, the supported GM activities, Ariant Coliseum, Sheep Ranch, Witch Tower, the Ledger's jump courses and explicitly safe quest rooms protect lives. Dragon Rider does not. Do not assume every private map is safe.
  • Trading, player shops, hired merchants, Cash Shop, ITC, storage, sending parcels, Fashion Gacha and account rentals are sealed. NX, VP, coins, fashion tickets and Monster Book cards do not drop there.
  • @check, @drops, @boss, @gear, @achievements / @msr and @dispose remain available. John and Winky the Fairy provide the Potential Liner and Scroll Shop in the Chaos Free Market.

Masks

Visit Motley in Chaos towns to choose one mask or none.

Mask Benefit Trade-off
Greed +40% mesos and drops -25% EXP
Sorrow +30% EXP -40% mesos and drops
Wrath +20% damage dealt +15% damage taken
Fear -20% damage taken, +10 Speed -20% damage dealt

Mask/Whim extra damage taken is capped at +25% above the Chaos baseline.

The Jester's Whims

Whims change hourly, with five minutes' notice and 60 seconds before downsides. All seven appear before repeating, without consecutive risky Whims. Bosses, PQs, jump quests and instances are excluded.

Whim Effect
The Jester Naps +15% EXP and mesos
Pay Day +50% mesos, +25% drops; new monsters have +20% HP
Encore! +25% EXP and faster respawns
Prop Shop Buff-potion drops, +50% potion drops, -15% mesos
Sugar Rush +20 Speed, +10 Jump, -20% drops
Full Moon +35% EXP; new monsters hit 15% harder
Glass Carnival +20% damage dealt, +12% damage taken

The Chaos HUD shows lives, mask and Whim/countdown. Motley also has the Grinning Moon, Three Bows and Last Curtain constellation boards. Six checks trigger a ten-minute lock. First solves pay 5% of a level.

The Chaos Ledger

Earn in Chaos; claim once per account from Lune in Kanata.

Goal Reward
Level 60, 100, 120 and 140 Superior Gollux choices
Unbroken: level 120 without a life lost Sweetwater accessory and medal
Acrobat: four jump-quest families Sweetwater accessory
Solo Curtain: solo Zakum / solo Horntail AbsoLab choice each
The Long Show: 10,000 kills on one Chaos character AbsoLab choice
Clean Performance: solo Horntail without HP/MP potions or a life lost Arcane Umbra choice
Masquerade: Pink Bean wearing Wrath Arcane Umbra choice
The Jester's Equal: Chaos Horntail Compatible Arcane Umbra weapon and medal
Curtain Call: level 200 Curtain Caller medal and Far Side Mantle
Firewalker / Starless Night The Jester's Throne / Lune's Crescent chair, for their special course/board goals

All-Rounder, Boss Circuit and Clean Circuit raise Challenger rank, up to three. Check the Ledger for requirements.

Gollux, AbsoLab, Arcane Umbra and Sweetwater trade in Kanata. Sweetwater accessories have no Sweetwater set bonus. Medals and special cosmetics keep their own restrictions. Chaos has separate Hall of Records and Rankings entries; fallen characters do not rank.

Progression & Equipment

  • Level cap 250 for every class. No questline is required to raise the cap.
  • Automatic advancement follows the class's own schedule. Most classes advance at 10/30/70/120; Cygnus, Evan and Dual Blade use their own paths. Spend new SP and check your skills after advancing.
  • Main-stat equipment requirements are removed, and equipment is unisex. Level, job and any other applicable requirement still matter.
  • Free movement support is provided for the classes that need it. Check Beginner skills and the client FAQ for controls.
  • Monster Book: F8 searches monsters, drops and maps. The distinct-card collection is shared by the account, with 12 medal tiers from 25 to 399 cards through @mba.
  • Account achievements: @achievements / @msr tracks levels, cards, quests, classes and bosses. Current normal-world goals reward Scroll Fragments, rather than the old cosmetic reward list.

Gear that lasts

Use class drops while leveling. Maple/QP items are optional gap-fillers; save QP when drops already work.

Pensalir armor and Utgard weapons can drop from regular monsters level 130+. They require 140 to equip and have their class set effects. Bosses use separate reward pools.

Inkwell (@qp) sells Maple gear, accessories, totems, ammunition, Superior Gollux and AbsoLab for QP from eligible quests/PQs.

Equipment Current QP prices
Superior Gollux Ring 217; earrings 244; pendant 272; belt 326
AbsoLab armor Hat 217; suit 244; shoulder 163; gloves 149; shoes 136; cape 136
AbsoLab weapon 544

Each Gollux/AbsoLab QP equipment slot is once per account. All AbsoLab weapon types share one slot. Check the class before confirming; Ledger/trading provide other routes.

Arcane Umbra comes through the Ledger; Eternal / Genesis through Toll. @gear shows requirements/sources and collects saved gear.

Potential, scrolls and enhancement

  • Miracle Cubes: eligible hunting drops, boss rewards and 650 NX in the Cash Shop. Potential caps at Unique.
  • Potential Liner: @liner costs 5,000,000 mesos to bring eligible existing potential to three lines and reveal it. It neither creates potential nor raises its tier.
  • Scroll Fragments: exchange through @ss. Steady 70%: 55 fragments; Bold 40%: 82; Wild 30%: 123. Kanata Scrolls do not destroy equipment.
  • Northstar White Scroll: 165 fragments. With a Kanata Scroll, a failure uses Northstar while preserving the scroll and slot; success uses the Kanata Scroll and keeps Northstar.
  • Moonlit Clean Slate Scroll 20%: 82 fragments, restoring up to two failed slots on success. Dawnlight Innocence Scroll is the separate scrolling reset, crafted from one Northstar and one Moonlit.
  • Enhancement: up to 100 stars, after scroll slots are used. Failure does not destroy the item or remove stars. Attempts from 20 stars cost 1,000,000 mesos each, plus the scroll.

Nebulites

Socket equipment with a Nebulite Socket Creator. Grades: D, C, B, A, S, SSS.

Grade step Chance Alien Cube meso fee
D to C 25% 250,000
C to B 15% 500,000
B to A 8% 600,000
A to S 4% 1,000,000
S to SSS 2% Fusion only

S/SSS Alien Cube uses reroll within the grade. Town shops sell Socket Creators for 5,000, Diffusers for 50,000, and Fusion Tickets for 100,000 mesos. Alien Cubes are available from Miu Miu and eligible drops. Nebulite Boxes come from eligible hunting, boss rewards and the Chaos Jester.

Bosses

Zakum, Chaos Zakum, Horntail, Chaos Horntail, Pink Bean, Papulatus, Pianus, Ravana, Captain Latanica, Scarlion/Targa, Krexel, Balrog, Emperor Toad, The Boss and The Unnamed Toll are available through their respective routes.

  • @boss shows directions, requirements, cooldowns and entries. Town travel moves only you to the entrance and does not start a fight.
  • The usual budget is 12 entries per boss activity per account and world, with a one-minute cooldown. Modes sharing an activity share its allowance. Reset is Thursday at 00:00, Dutch time.
  • Entry levels do not promise a clear at that level.
  • Reward contribution matters: the normal threshold is 15% of the qualifying encounter HP. The Boss Chart shows participation. Particular personal rewards can also require survival at the clear.
  • Main bosses offer personal rolls for cubes, scrolls, Nebulites and class gear, separate from shared accessories. Not every roll succeeds.
  • Configured boss finishers earn 3,000 NX in Kanata. Ordinary field bosses pay no NX; the Chaos Jester has its separate reward.
  • Some entrance NPCs sell summon supplies for 15,000,000 mesos. Summon-item requirements still apply. Qualified Papulatus and Scarlion/Targa finishers receive the appropriate summon item back privately.
  • Field bosses use their own respawn schedule. The Chaos Jester appears after about ten active hunting minutes: jump its ground wave and leave the close burst. Its 1,000 NX reward needs 30% contribution, separate from its killer's Nebulite Box reward.

The Unnamed Toll

Take the Postal Worker's boat from Leafre to Bellwether, then speak with Nell Wren. Normal is 200+, Hard 225+, with 1-6 players and 20 minutes. They share entries.

No story prequest is needed to fight. Qualified personal rewards require 15% contribution and being alive at the clear. Normal guarantees 1 Tollheart Shard, Hard 3, with a separate 20% personal equipment chance. Drop bonuses do not raise it.

Sera Flint exchanges 20 shards for compatible Eternal armor or 30 for a Genesis weapon. Equipment requires 225, even though Normal admission is 200.

Party Quests

Henesys, Kerning, Ludibrium, Orbis, Ellin Forest, Romeo and Juliet, Lord Pirate, Amoria, Crimsonwood Keep, Guild PQ, Hoblin King, Sea of Fog, Dragon Rider, Monster Carnivals, Dojo, Ariant Coliseum, Ludibrium Maze and other special formats each keep their own objectives.

  • Common PQs take 2-6 living players together, without old retail level brackets. Amoria marriage, Crimsonwood items/class tasks and other special rules remain.
  • The ordinary weekly allowance is 8 entries per activity, per account and world. Mu Lung Dojo has 8 fresh runs weekly. Reset is Thursday at 00:00 Dutch time.
  • Eligible clears pay 3-10 QP and personal equipment rewards. PQ equipment includes accessories, class parts and enhancement scrolls. Saved rewards can be collected through @gear.
  • Golden Temple and Ravana keep their ticket, level and Sunburst requirements. Read the entrance before organizing a group.
  • Haunted House hunting is permanent. Halloween event content, including seasonal activities, ends November 1. The ordinary mansion training maps are not removed with the event.

Custom Questlines

Full walkthroughs: Questline Guides: Start Here.

Story Start Main reason to do it
The Far Side Lune, Henesys, level 10 Seven chapters through 160, useful EXP rewards, Far-Sider medal and Chaos account unlock
The Four Faces The Usher, Henesys, level 60 Seven chapters through 130, EXP/mesos and the Moon Stage unlock
The Moon Stage Finish The Four Faces One or two players, Normal 130 / Hard 160 / Encore 200, puzzles, the Impresario and personal reward goals
Off the Edge of the Map Quill, Leafre, level 180 Chapter EXP/mesos, the one-time Five Measures at 200 and Edgewalker medal; optional
Echoes Beyond the Stars Kyrin, Nautilus, level 180 Soul Seeker for non-Cygnus classes; Cygnus receives Hunting Decree at 165
Gathering Bags Chris, Kerning City Repair Shop, level 30 Larger material bags while leveling
Bellwether Postal Worker, Leafre, level 200 The Address Market, three scaling hunting grounds, a story and three weekly hunts

The Five Measures pay the one-time bars for levels 200-204, designed for 200 to 205. The cap remains 250 without them. Bellwether's story pays a total of 36% of the level-200 EXP bar, and each weekly pays 15% of that bar, plus mesos and Power Elixirs.

Bellwether is good for active parties: its hunting grounds scale to each player, and eligible EXP recipients get their own private loot rolls.

Economy: VP, DP & NX

Account currencies and rentals belong to Kanata, not Chaos.

VP

  • A verified vote gives 4 VP once per server day, resetting at midnight Dutch time, subject to the voting site's own limits.
  • Eligible hunting can also award VP from level 20, up to 40 VP per account per calendar month.
  • 1,875 NX costs 0.25 VP, or 7,500 NX per VP. Four VP exchanges for 30,000 NX; keep what you need for training.
  • Normal Fashion Ticket: 0.5 VP. Character Slot: 2 VP, up to Kanata's slot cap.
  • Four daily VP covers four hours of all three rentals: 2x EXP 1.5 VP, Pet Vac 1.5 VP and Hyper Teleport Rock 1 VP.

DP & Kanata Coins

  • One Kanata Coin exchanges for 500 DP through @dps. Coins are an uncommon in-game reward, and can be traded. DP does not turn back into coins.
  • DP is also available through donations. It buys the same timed services, not a stronger version: each 30-minute block costs 5 DP for 2x EXP, 4 for Pet Vac, 2 for the rock.
  • Other choices are 5,000 NX for 756 DP, Special Fashion Ticket for 1,080 DP, and Character Name Change Coupon for 2,160 DP.
  • NX can fund cubing. Spend for your needs; donating is not required to level or earn gear.

Rentals start immediately and keep running offline. Kanata characters share the remaining time. VP/DP extend the same service rather than stacking two 2x multipliers.

Fashion & Trading

Town Fashion Gachapons supply cosmetic equipment and pets. Normal Fashion Tickets can drop while hunting and come from the VP shop. Special Fashion Tickets use a different pool and come from their own boss/shop sources, not the normal monster ticket roll.

While unseen rewards remain, pity prevents a fifth consecutive normal duplicate or third special duplicate. A new reward resets it; you do not choose the prize.

Trading, player shops, hired merchants, Duey, weddings, Omok, Match Cards and the meso-based Item Trade Center are available in Kanata. Check each item's stats and trade restrictions before buying.

Useful Tools

Information: @help, @check, @drops, @gear, @boss / @bosses, @mba, @achievements / @msr.

Services: @qp, @liner, @ss / @scrollshop, @vote, @vps, @dps.

Convenience: @dispose closes a stuck window; @ab / @autobuff maintains your own eligible buffs; @ap / @autopickup toggles free nearby pickup. Auto Buff and Auto Pickup are per character; Pet Vac is a separate rental.

Quick travel, HD settings, buff/cooldown timers, material bags and a 50-slot Scroll Satchel are included. Pet Ignore and Auto Sell support 50 entries each. Controls and restrictions: Client Features FAQ.

Fair play: combat checks can appear. A qualifying pass can give one 20-minute, level-scaled EXP, drop, meso or ATT/MATT bonus. It does not overwrite an active bonus of the same kind; staff/self-tests do not award it.
