08 · MONEY, VP & DP

Kanata world · Mesos, Quest Points, Vote Points, Donor Points and NX

You do not need to buy every upgrade as soon as it appears. Keep your weapon useful, collect the rewards you already earned, and save bigger purchases for gear you plan to keep.

This chapter covers the normal Kanata world. Chaos has its own restrictions: its characters cannot use these account shops, rentals, Cash Shop or trading routes.

1 · Know What You Are Spending

Currency Where it comes from What to use it for
Mesos Hunting, NPC sales, quest rewards and player trading Supplies, equipment, potential services, Nebulites and other upgrades
Quest Points, or QP Completed quests and eligible Party Quest clears Maple equipment, useful accessories, ammunition, Superior Gollux and AbsoLab equipment
Vote Points, or VP Verified daily voting and occasional hunting rewards Timed conveniences, NX, Normal Fashion Tickets and character slots
Donor Points, or DP Donations or exchanging Kanata Coins earned in game The same timed services, NX, Special Fashion Tickets and a character rename
NX Eligible boss and Chaos Jester rewards, or VP/DP exchange Cash Shop items, including Miracle Cubes

Open @qp, @vps or @dps for the matching shop. The VP and DP shops also show your balances and rental expiry times.

VP and DP are different balances. There is no single exchange rate that makes one shop automatically cheaper. Compare the purchase you need and the currency you already have.

2 · Make Mesos While You Progress

A sensible starting loop

  1. Train somewhere you can clear comfortably and still receive ordinary drops.
  2. Keep equipment you will actually wear, quest materials you need, and useful upgrade materials.
  3. Sell unwanted clean equipment to an NPC. Check anything upgraded or unusual before selling it.
  4. Complete nearby quests and Party Quests for QP alongside your levels.
  5. Add bosses when you can contribute enough to qualify for their rewards.

Your class's clean equipment drops are useful early income. Ores, crystals and other crafting materials may also be worth keeping or offering to another player. Player prices depend on current supply and demand: check the Marketplace or ask for a price check before treating a rare item as ordinary shop loot.

Scroll Fragment Scroll Fragment

Keep Scroll Fragments for @ss. They are your ordinary scrolling currency, so selling them carelessly can mean farming the same upgrade twice.

A good EXP map can stop being a good money map

For ordinary drops and mesos, hunt monsters within 10 levels of your character. Once a monster is level 115 or above, it keeps dropping for you when you outlevel it. A monster more than 10 levels above you still falls outside ordinary drop eligibility.

That means Petrifighter, level 110, is a training option around its level, but not a lasting high-level money farm. Higher-level monsters such as Skelegon and Skelosaurus remain useful farming candidates after you outlevel them. Your clear speed still matters.

EXP, bosses, Monster Book cards and items needed by your active quests have their own rules. Do not assume that an EXP gain means you qualify for every ordinary drop.

Monster Book showing current drop information

Press F8 for the Monster Book, or type @drops followed by a monster or item name. Check your own current chances and the monster's maps before committing to a farm.

Keep trading simple

Trade useful equipment and materials you do not need. Compare the actual item's attack, potential, upgrades, set and trade restrictions; two items with the same name can have very different value.

Before confirming a trade, check the full item and meso offer again. For a larger purchase, get a current price check rather than relying on an old guide's price.

3 · Vote Points: The Full Useful Shop List

Type @vote, or use the voting option in @vps. A verified vote awards 4 VP once per account per server day. The reward resets at midnight in the Netherlands, Europe/Amsterdam, rather than 24 hours after your last reward. The voting site's own limits still apply.

Hunting can also award VP from level 20 onward, with a 40 VP monthly limit per account for hunting rewards. Treat those drops as an extra, not a guaranteed daily budget.

VP rentals

Pet Vac and 2x EXP have the same VP prices. Each service is purchased separately.

Duration Pet Vac 2x EXP Hyper Teleport Rock
30 minutes 0.25 VP 0.25 VP 0.25 VP
1 hour 0.5 VP 0.5 VP 0.5 VP
2 hours 1 VP 1 VP 0.75 VP
4 hours 1.5 VP 1.5 VP 1 VP
8 hours 2.5 VP 2.5 VP 1.75 VP
24 hours 6 VP 6 VP 4 VP

Pet Vac collects eligible drops across the map while you have a pet out. 2x EXP is the hunting EXP service. The Hyper Teleport Rock is the reusable rental with 13 saved-map slots, useful for travelling between training maps and quest stops.

One daily vote's 4 VP covers four hours of all three services: 1.5 VP for Pet Vac, 1.5 VP for 2x EXP and 1 VP for the Hyper Teleport Rock.

Keep 2x EXP active whenever you train. Eight hours of 2x alone costs 2.5 VP, so one daily 4 VP vote easily covers a normal hunting session. Buy the duration you will use, but do not plan your training around leaving 2x off. It improves eligible monster EXP, not quest turn-in EXP.

Everything else in the VP shop

Purchase Price Useful when…
1,875 NX 0.25 VP You need a specific Cash Shop purchase
Normal Fashion Ticket 0.5 VP each You want a roll from the normal fashion pool
Eight Normal Fashion Tickets 4 VP You want eight rolls; the bundle has the same price per ticket
Character Slot 2 VP You want another normal-world character and have room below the slot cap

The NX exchange is 7,500 NX per 1 VP. Exchange only what you need if you also want to keep VP for rentals or character slots.

Normal Fashion Tickets are for fashion and pets. Buy them because you want those rewards; do not make random fashion rolls part of your equipment budget.

4 · DP: An Alternative Budget

The DP shop opens with @dps. One Kanata Coin exchanges for 500 DP. Kanata Coins can be earned in game, so DP is not limited to donating.

Coins are a rare extra from playing. Build a repeatable plan around hunting, QP, bosses and voting rather than expecting a coin to drop during every session.

DP rentals beside the VP options

DP rentals are billed in 30-minute blocks. You choose the number of minutes; an amount between blocks rounds up to the next block. The confirmation shows the time and cost before you buy.

Duration Pet Vac 2x EXP Hyper Teleport Rock
30 minutes 4 DP 5 DP 2 DP
1 hour 8 DP 10 DP 4 DP
2 hours 16 DP 20 DP 8 DP
4 hours 32 DP 40 DP 16 DP
8 hours 64 DP 80 DP 32 DP
24 hours 192 DP 240 DP 96 DP

For example, four hours of all three costs 88 DP, compared with 4 VP through the VP shop. These are alternative ways to pay for the same services, not stronger and weaker versions.

DP is useful when you already have some from a Kanata Coin, want a longer rental in one purchase, or prefer to save VP for a character slot. If your daily VP covers your session, there is no need to spend DP on the same session just because it is available.

Other DP purchases

Purchase Price What to know
5,000 NX 756 DP Compare with the VP exchange before spending your balance
Special Fashion Ticket 1,080 DP Uses the special fashion pool; it is a different ticket from the VP shop's normal one
Character Name Change Coupon 2,160 DP For renaming an existing character; the shop also has the option to use it

The DP shop does not turn DP into stronger equipment stats. Decide between conveniences, cosmetics, NX and a rename according to what you actually want.

5 · How Rental Time Works

Rentals activate when purchased. Their clocks use real elapsed time, including time spent logged out. Buy them when you are ready to play, not the night before a session.

These are account services for the Kanata world. Your characters share the service's remaining time. Buying more of a service extends its existing expiry; buying the same service with VP and DP adds time to that same service. It does not give a second EXP multiplier or a stronger Pet Vac.

You can store up to 30 days of remaining time per service. Check the balance screen before extending a rental, especially if you already have one running.

Turning off pickup or putting a pet away does not pause a purchased rental. The expiry shown in the shop is the time to plan around.

6 · Spend NX With a Plan

Miracle Cube Miracle Cube - 650 NX in the Cash Shop

Miracle Cubes also come from eligible hunting and boss rewards. Use the ones you earn, then decide whether more cubing is the best next upgrade. A random reroll is not guaranteed to beat your existing potential.

Eligible boss finishers can earn 3,000 NX, and the Kanata Chaos Jester has its own 1,000 NX reward for qualifying contributors. Participation requirements apply; being in the map alone does not guarantee payment.

For an unfunded character, saving NX and cubes for equipment you will keep is usually more useful than repeatedly rerolling every temporary piece. Check whether a better weapon, a set bonus or a straightforward scroll upgrade would help first.

The scroll shop @ss now offers the Scroll Fragment exchange and socket-related services. Older advice about buying a full selection of ordinary 60% scrolls there is out of date.

7 · QP Is Part of Your Gear Budget

Use @qp to visit Inkwell's Quest Point Shop. It sells Maple weapons and shields, useful early accessories, ammunition, Superior Gollux equipment and AbsoLab equipment.

Save most QP during the early game. The equipment-drop system normally supplies suitable class gear as you level, so buying several Maple weapon tiers is usually poor value. Maple weapons and shields are stocked if you have a genuine missing piece; their presence in the shop does not make them recommended purchases. Check your drops and @gear first, and keep points for lasting accessories and AbsoLab.

Superior Gollux and AbsoLab QP purchases are limited by equipment slot, once per account. All AbsoLab weapon types share one purchase slot. Choose for the character you intend to equip; changing characters does not refresh those purchases.

Completed quests and eligible PQ finishes build your QP without needing player-market prices. They are a practical option when you have little meso funding or cannot find a seller for the piece you want.

8 · A Simple Spending Order

If you are… Spend on this first
Starting with little funding Supplies first; use suitable hunting drops and save most QP for lasting equipment
Preparing to train Keep 2x EXP active; a daily vote covers eight hours of 2x or four hours of all three services
Saving for stronger gear QP equipment goals, boss rewards and a weapon you can keep upgrading
Already funded Compare your weakest equipment slots and set bonuses before buying another random upgrade
Interested in fashion Set a separate ticket/NX budget after your immediate gameplay needs

Keep upgraded equipment off your selling list, check the current price before a big trade, and use the Monster Book and @drops to find your own next target. You will get more from a clear plan than from buying a little of everything.
