04 · EQUIPMENT PROGRESSION
Build a useful character first. Perfect individual pieces later.
Open @gear before buying a major upgrade. It filters equipment for your class and shows required level, sources, useful details and available reward routes. A weapon for another class is not a bargain if you cannot use it.
The equipment path
Level-appropriate hunting drops and personal rewards → Pensalir and Utgard → AbsoLab → Arcane Umbra → Eternal armor and Genesis weapons.
Save most of your early QP. Kanata's equipment-drop system supplies class-appropriate gear as you train. You will normally replace early weapons and armor from those drops, so spending heavily on low-level QP equipment is poor value. Maple equipment is available in the shop, but buying every tier is not part of the recommended route. Drops are random, so use an optional purchase only for a real gap.
Superior Gollux and Sweetwater are accessory choices alongside that path. Sweetwater is not an armor tier here and does not have a Sweetwater set bonus.
You can skip an intermediate piece if you already own something better. Compare the actual stats, potential, scrolls and useful set effects instead of replacing equipment only because its name appears later in the list.
Spend in this order
- A weapon that makes your current training comfortable. Check the correct weapon type, attack or magic attack, and the skills you use.
- Empty accessory slots and inexpensive useful pieces. Several small improvements can be cheaper than one heavily upgraded item.
- Useful Nebulites, usable potential and sensible scrolling on equipment you will keep. Nebulites are a major source of power, so check your sockets early. Avoid pouring all your cubes into a temporary drop.
- Class set pieces and lasting accessories. Look at which set threshold you are actually completing.
- Expensive rerolls, extra stars and premium scroll attempts. These are later goals once the rest of the character works.
Secondary equipment stat requirements are ignored. You do not need to build a separate DEX/LUK outfit just to put your main gear on. Level, class and weapon restrictions still matter.
Nebulites are a major upgrade
Nebulite Box ·
Nebulite Socket Creator ·
Alien Cube
Do not leave useful sockets empty while chasing a more expensive equipment tier. A Nebulite adds its own bonus alongside your equipment's potential, scrolls and stars. Useful main-stat or All Stats stones across compatible pieces can make a big difference.
Examples of stronger stones include S-grade All Stats +12%, Weapon Attack +6%, Magic Attack +6%, and Boss Damage +35%. The attack, magic attack and boss-damage examples are weapon-only. These are goals to compare with your budget, not requirements for a beginner. Boss Damage +35% is a boss-damage stat bonus; it does not promise 35% more final damage.
Unfunded: use a relevant affordable stone on gear you expect to keep, then improve it over time. Funded: review missing or weak sockets before paying heavily for small gains elsewhere. Read each stone's allowed equipment and effect. See Sockets and Nebulites for tools, costs and upgrading.
Early game · Drops, Maple weapons and PQ rewards
Use the suitable equipment that drops while you level. The QP shop also stocks the following Maple items; this is a catalog of options, not a shopping list. A purchase can fill a genuine missing weapon or shield slot, but routine early weapon upgrades should usually come from hunting drops.
| Option | QP cost | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| Maple Shield | 11 | A shield-compatible build that benefits from it; level 20 required |
| Level 35 Maple weapon | 20 | A weak current weapon is slowing you down |
| Level 43 Maple weapon | 30 | Optional gap-filler; usually skip if current drops already keep you comfortable |
| Level 64 Maple weapon | 47 | Available if needed; do not spend just to follow a weapon tier list |
| Level 77 Maple Pyrope weapon | 74 | A substantial early QP expense; usually save these points for lasting gear |

Maple Shield
Unfunded: use level-appropriate drops first. You do not need to buy Maple gear to progress. Keep most QP for lasting accessory and AbsoLab goals; consider an early purchase only if a genuine gear gap is stopping comfortable kills.
Funded: check your existing gear and new hunting drops before buying anything. A strong traded piece may help, but there is still no reason to spend QP on temporary Maple tiers you already outperform.
Useful early accessories
| Item | Required level | QP |
|---|---|---|
| Raccoon Mask | 35 | 4 |
| White Raccoon Mask | 45 | 5 |
| Pink Adventurer Cape / Purple Adventurer Cape | 50 | 6 each |
| Spectrum Goggles | 70 | 11 |
| Halfmoon Ring | 70 | 17 |
| Golden Joe Joe Totem / Golden Hermoninny Totem / Golden Little Dragon Totem / Golden Ika Totem | 70 | 20 each |
| VIP Belt | 127 | 27 |
| Blazing Sun Ring | 130 | 34 |

Pink Adventurer Cape
These accessories are available if you need that specific slot. Compare them with your drops and personal PQ rewards first. Cheap does not automatically mean worth buying, and a series of small temporary purchases still uses QP you could save for lasting gear.
PQ clears also offer personal equipment rewards. Qualified main-boss clears have a separate pool with stronger class parts and Kataras. If a saved reward is waiting because your inventory was full, use @gear → Collect saved run rewards.
Level 140 · Pensalir armor and Utgard weapons
Hunt ordinary monsters level 130 or above for class-matched pieces. The equipment itself requires level 140. Bosses use different reward pools.

Unfunded: this is a natural hunting goal while moving through Leafre or Temple of Time. Keep useful rolls and compare pieces before selling extras.
Funded: buy a suitable set or weapon if it costs less than the time you would spend hunting it. An already improved piece can be worthwhile, but price its actual upgrades rather than the name alone.

The QP shop sells each Gollux equipment slot once per account. The Chaos Ledger is another route to Gollux choices, earned through its own goals and claimed in Kanata.
Prioritize the slot that replaces your weakest piece or completes a useful set threshold. Buying the cheapest item first is not always the best improvement.
Level 160 · AbsoLab
| Slot | QP |
|---|---|
| Hat | 217 |
| Suit | 244 |
| Shoulder | 163 |
| Gloves | 149 |
| Shoes | 136 |
| Cape | 136 |

AbsoLab Revenge Guard
These pictures show the thief versions. @gear shows the full class-compatible list, so other classes should choose their own equipment.
Plan account purchases. Each AbsoLab QP slot is once per account, and all AbsoLab weapons share one weapon slot. Check the intended class before confirming. This limit is on QP purchases; it does not mean you can never obtain another piece through other valid routes.
AbsoLab can also come through Chaos Ledger goals. In the Kanata world, these equipment pieces can be traded under the supported free-trade rules, so the player market is another option.
Unfunded: save QP from quests and PQs, improve one important slot at a time, and continue using good Pensalir pieces until a replacement actually helps.
Funded: compare the market cost of an existing improved item with the cost of making your own. Avoid paying to perfect a temporary piece immediately before replacing it.
Long-term · Arcane, Eternal and Genesis
Arcane Umbra Knight Hat ·
Arcane Umbra Saber
Arcane Umbra is a Chaos Ledger reward route: Clean Performance and Masquerade offer Arcane choices, while The Jester's Equal offers a compatible weapon. Earn the goal in Chaos, then claim from Lune in Kanata. The illustrated pieces require level 200; check your own selection in @gear.
Eternal Knight Helm ·
Genesis Saber
Eternal armor and Genesis weapons come from The Unnamed Toll's personal equipment rolls or Sera's Tollheart Shard exchange in Bellwether.
| Choice | Tollheart Shards |
|---|---|
| One compatible Eternal armor piece | 20 |
| One compatible Genesis weapon | 30 |
Tollheart Shard
An eligible Normal clear gives 1 shard; Hard gives 3. Normal admission begins at 200 and Hard at 225. The Eternal Knight Helm and Genesis Saber both require level 225 to equip. You can earn shards in Normal before you reach the equipment requirement.
Do not treat level 200 entry as a promise that a fresh level 200 character can solo the fight. Build a capable group and learn the hazards.
Two sensible plans
Fresh account: wear suitable hunting drops → collect useful personal PQ rewards → hunt Pensalir/Utgard → save most QP for Gollux/AbsoLab → add useful Nebulites and improve lasting pieces → choose boss and Chaos goals you enjoy. Maple weapons are optional gap-fillers, not required steps.
Established account: transfer or buy usable gear → skip weak intermediate purchases → secure the weapon and core accessories → improve weak or empty Nebulite sockets → finish useful set effects and improve potential and scrolls → work on Arcane or Toll equipment.
Both plans benefit from Monster Book medals, account achievements and good training habits. Equipment is one part of the character, not a reason to ignore every other source of progress.
